My Work
Theatre
I've been involved in Perth French Theatre since 2018 and have enjoyed the opportunity to develop new skills in both the language and in theatre! Not to mention getting the opportunity to perform in our plays.
Pinocchio
I played the schoolteacher and a struttin' stagehand in this incredibly costumed production of Pinocchio, as written by French playwright Joël Pommerat. Delivering a monologue was so much fun!

Le Cercle des Illusionnistes
I played Antonia, a magician's assistant, in our 2021 production of Le cercle des illusionnistes by Alexis Michalik. I also helped out backstage, where I found my passion for project management and logistics extended well to managing the props.

Road Safety
In 2023 I moved away from project management after some ten years and am now spending my days evaluating the road safety impacts of projects full time. At the time of writing it's still early days but I'm really enjoying the mix of technical aspects (use of spreadsheets, reading road safety research papers, and expertise in road safety itself) and the opportunity to make an impact on the road safety outcomes of virtually all projects being undertaken in Western Australia.
Road Projects
The great thing about being a traffic engineer is that your projects are actual places in the world, instead of making a mining conveyor belt more efficient or something. The bad thing about being a traffic engineer is most of my projects are filed in a drawer somewhere waiting for funding to magically be available.
Here's a selection of projects that I've worked on that have been completed:
My role in projects was generally preliminary design work and treatment selection, so the detailed and design and construction of these projects were handled by other project managers.

- New freeway merge lines (youtube video) - as far as I can tell, Perth drivers still can't merge
- Marmion Avenue / Hepburn Avenue and Marmion Avenue / Whitfords Avenue upgrades (media link)
- Fremantle Pedestrian Shared Path upgrade (project link)

Fiction

I've written a 140,000 word vampire romance novel as a co-writing project a good friend under the shared pseudonym of Angela Castir. It is called "Vampire Flower Language" and is set in Rome, Corsica, and Ohio in the 1940s, particularly around World War II.
You can read it on Archive of Our Own, which will also allow you to download it in a variety of ebook formats.
Its goal was never commercial or critical success, which is good, as it has achieved neither!
